The Christian Investor

By Dr. John Wagner

Is the term "Christian Investor" an oxymoron? I think not. True, the Bible says our hearts will be where our treasure is (Matt. 6:21). Christians should never become so obsessed with accumulating dollars as to forget life's real priorities: "to do justly, to love mercy, and to
walk humbly with God" (Micah 6:8) in preparation for eternal life in God's kingdom.

However, the Bible also proclaims it is a denial of faith not to provide for one's own, especially those in one's own house (1 Tim. 5:8) Furthermore, in Matthew 25:14-27, good stewardship with money is commended and poor stewardship condemned.

I believe God expects His children to diligently prepare for the future-ultimately with Him in the kingdom, but also for whatever time remains while here on earth. Scripture admonishes that whatever we do should be done well (Eccl 9:10). The Christian Investor's mission is to provide information which will assist readers in managing fiscal resources well in order to provide for the needs of God's Kingdom on earth and family members dependent on those resources.
